Kick off Montpelier’s Independence Day parade with Vermont’s fastest mile! This classic one-mile race runs through historic downtown Montpelier in front of thousands of spectators – then stick around after the race for the parade and fireworks! Total purse distributed among top 3 finishers in overall men’s and women’s fields, plus prizes for course record breakers and the Dash for Cash prize for the first man and first woman to the corner of Main St. (just past 1/4 mile). All ages welcome – kids encouraged to run!

Race Start: 6:00pm (adults with strollers start 6:01pm)

NEW! This year we have chip timing for the Montpelier Mile which means there will be a chip placed on your shoe so that your timing doesn’t start and end UNTIL you cross the start and finish line!

Pre-registration through July 1 at Runreg.com: $15 adult / $15 adult with stroller / $10 adult with kid / $5 kids under 12

Day-of registration from 3:45-5:30pm: $25 adult / $25 adult with stroller / $20 adult with kid / $5 kids under 12

Registration and number pickup at the Onion River Sports tent in front of People’s United Bank, 112 State St. in Montpelier.
