Maybe you haven’t put many miles in the saddle yet this spring. Maybe you’re trying to get back to town in time for the afternoon climate rally. Whatever the reason, there’s no shame in a shortcut. That’s why we’re excited to introduce the Hibernator Short Loop at this year’s Muddy Onion spring classic gravel ride! This new 19-mile ride option includes all the dirt road magic in roughly half the distance, including sweeping views and scenic roads through East Montpelier, Adamant, and Middlesex, and a bigger and better aid station at the halfway point.

Distance: 19.4 miles

Elevation: 1,729 feet

Aid Stations: CTA station in Adamant (mile 10)

This ride begins with a few brisk climbs out of town on the regular Muddy loop, then mellows out along rolling dirt roads in East Montpelier and Adamant before making a vigorous descent back into town on Route 12 in Middlesex. Enjoy sweeping views eastward, a glimpse at a secret scenic pond, and a tour past one of the most picturesque farms in the region. This loop does bypass the Halfway Home  aid station in Plainfield, but will include a beefed-up Catamount Trail Association aid station at mile 10 in Adamant so you can still experience most of the fun in half of the distance.

Pre-register now and save (ends Thursday, April 27 at 5pm)!
